JOB TITLE: Accounts Receivable Clerk

LOCATION: Houston, TX

THE ROLE: Directly reporting to our Controller, the accounting role plays a key team member part. A great place to learn our company and make an immediate impact helping to ensure good relationships with our vendors and ensuring accuracy in our financial systems. 

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE (but not limited to)

• Perform technical accounting tasks, such as account reconciliation and journal entries.
• Strong acumen for ERP systems and payment portals.
• Analyze financial data to identify discrepancies and resolve issues.
• Assist with corporate accounting activities as needed.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of financial transactions.
• Process accounts receivable transactions, including debits and credits.
• Communicate with customers to address billing inquiries and resolve payment discrepancies.
• Utilize 10-key typing skills to accurately input numerical data.
• Demonstrate email and phone etiquette when interacting with internal and external stakeholders.
• Protects the organization's value by keeping information confidential.
• Assists with special projects and provides cross-functional support as needed to help other team members and the company overall.

IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Professional cadence in email etiquette.
• Advanced Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Suite products.
• Experience with accounts receivable functions, specifically cash application and collections.
• Strong team player.
• Experience working in ERP and lumber experience is a plus.
• Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and professional regard for their work.
• Possess strong problem-solving skills.
• Possess strong time management skills.
• Natural curiosity and a willingness to learn.
• Not intimidated by social interaction on the phone or in person.
