POSITION SUMMARY:

Prepare and display items for sale in accordance with Gigis Cupcakes standards and policies. Support and assist the baking department through various tasks. Prospective employees should be friendly, hard-working, dependable and a team player. Most positions are initially part-time. Part-time positions may lead to full-time employment based on job performance and available openings.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Greet and wait on customers promptly and cheerfully.
• Be prompt, tactful, calm, courteous, and professional in all interactions.
• Must be able to effectively communicate with customers and associates.
• Record detailed common and custom orders using order tracking software.
• Adhere to Gigis Cupcakes policies and procedures, as well as State and Federal laws.
• Operate POS system in accordance with Gigis Cupcakes procedures.
• Unload and store merchandise, prepare and display products in accordance with Gigis Cupcakes standards, recipes, and policies in compliance with Food Safety Policies and Procedures and Health Department regulations.
• Perform required temperature monitoring.
• Monitor product quality; make sure it is always fresh and safe.
• Maintain proper signage, product rotation, and quantity.
• Assist on special projects such as periodic inventories, seasonal store resets, remodels, special merchandising promotions, and special events.
• Keep sales areas, kitchen, and coolers clean and well organized.
• Keep carts, tools, equipment and supplies in their designated areas.
• Keep floors clean, safe, and free from clutter.
• Wash and sanitize bakeware and utensils in accordance with Gigis Cupcakes and Health Department policies and procedures.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Must be at least 16 years of age or older.

Must be available to work two 6+ hour shifts per week.

Basic math skills are required.

Willing to work Saturdays and Holidays as needed.

Able to read shelf tags, signs, product labels, and training materials.

Demonstrates effective written and verbal communication skills that engage our customers and associates.

Ability to multi-task, set priorities, present information in a professional manner and work with all levels of the organization.

Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment and a willingness to help all members of the department.

Possess abilities and skills for effective production, merchandising, and customer services.

Must be able to work with various cleaning solutions, safely use sharp tools, and carefully operate all production equipment.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

On feet up to 6 hours per day

Dexterity to twist, squat, bend, push, reach, and pull

Frequently lift 1-15 pounds

Occasionally lift 20-50 pounds

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

• 1+ year previous experience in food preparation or other related positions
• 1+ year previous experience with customer service
• Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to employment practices, safety, and food handling.
