Our client, a tech-driven project controls and data analytics consulting company, is seeking full-time Business Analysts to join their team to help create actionable, data-driven insights for their clients in the utility industry. They have some exciting opportunities on the horizon to make a direct impact on capital improvement projects! These opportunities can be filled in various Northern CA locations to include Sacramento, the Bay Area, or surrounding locations. You’ll work closely with stakeholders to gather and analyze business requirements, merge and normalize datasets, and deliver critical findings through advanced tools like Excel, PowerQuery, SQL, and PowerBI. Position Opportunity: Business Analysts will support the development of data-driven insights for their utility industry clients. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading interactions with key stakeholders to gather and analyze business requirements, merge disparate datasets, conduct analysis, and present findings to Director-level stakeholders. Duties will include:

Technical Expertise: 

• Generate reports from SAP and other data platforms.
• Connect and synthesize large, disparate datasets using Excel, PowerQuery, and/or SQL.
• Standardize data for seamless integration with visualization tools.
• Develop rules to identify anomalies and ensure data aligns with business requirements.
• Build interactive dashboards with PowerBI for Director-level decision-making. 

Project Management: 

• Break down projects into measurable milestones with clear timelines.
• Communicate progress and updates effectively through project status reports.
• Facilitate recurring stakeholder meetings to foster collaboration and alignment.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams for seamless project delivery.
• Maintain a data dictionary for efficient data management and accessibility. 

Ideal Candidate: You will have a strong Business Analyst background with proven experience working in similar roles. With exceptional communication skills, you excel at building strong client relationships through trust, clear articulation of complex ideas, and a consultative approach. Your experience will include:

• Prior experience as a Business Analyst creating actionable, data-driven insights.
• Industry experience in construction; Utility industry experience is a plus.
• Demonstrated proficiency in SQL, Advanced Excel, PowerQuery, and PowerBI.
• Familiarity with Analysis for Microsoft Office is preferred but not required.
• Strong listening abilities and a consultative approach to client interactions.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills, building trust and fostering strong relationships.
• Clear and concise articulation of complex ideas, both verbally and in writing.
• A solutions-focused attitude with the ability to anticipate client needs. 

This role will be a hybrid role and can be filled within various client locations which may include Sacramento, Oakland, or other locations within Northern California. This position will work a mixture of remote and client onsite work. This is a full-time role with full benefits to include health insurance, 401k, vacation, sick, and holiday pay. The salary range is between $85,000 to $135,000, depending on experience.
