Provides daily supportive and functional care to residents in a compassionate environment according to established community care procedures as directed by nursing leadership. Works as a collaborative member of an interdisciplinary team that focuses on the resident as the director of their own care. Responsibilities include maintaining residents’ comfort, providing physical care with activities of daily living, answering call lights and requests, reporting observations to the nurse, handling personal care needs, observing residents for changing needs, participating in care/service plans, assisting during mealtimes, creating meaningful relationships with residents and families, supporting resident decision making, assisting with therapies and treatments, documenting care, and maintaining a clean and safe environment. Qualifications include current CNA certification in Missouri or Illinois, or enrollment/eligibility for enrollment in Pennsylvania nurse aide registry within 120 days of training completion. Must be able to communicate with residents and preferably have prior direct patient care experience. Physical requirements include standing, walking, using hands, talking, sitting, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, climbing, lifting up to 50 lbs, and pushing/pulling 45 lbs. Working conditions include exposure to emotionally upset residents, fumes, infectious waste, and the need to work beyond normal hours including weekends and holidays.
