Chief Pilot

UAV

Houston, TX (Hybrid, relocation support offered)

$100,000-130,000 (depending on experience) plus benefits

Airbotics Talent are supporting a pioneering drone client at the forefront of aerial innovation and data collection. With strong growth in the North American market, our client is expanding their on-the-ground operations and seeking a Chief Pilot to lead customer missions, demonstrations, and regional operations across the US.

This is a full-time, on-site position based at the company’s Houston operation. You’ll be the go-to pilot and UAV expert—responsible for showcasing the technology, supporting field deployments, and ensuring a world-class customer experience.

The Role

As Chief Pilot, you will be the face of the company for mission-critical field operations, product demonstrations, and customer onboarding. You’ll serve as the lead pilot on commercial deployments and oversee drone operations, training, and technical support across North America.

This is a hands-on, field-driven role that combines UAV piloting, customer engagement, and regional operational oversight.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead Piloting & Field Operations : Act as the lead UAV operator for on-site missions, product demonstrations, and commercial deployments.

Customer Success : Support clients throughout their journey—from onboarding and training to live mission execution—ensuring adoption, satisfaction, and long-term success.

Product Demonstrations : Conduct on-site demos and proof-of-concept flights to showcase capabilities and drive customer confidence.

Training & Enablement : Deliver in-depth, hands-on training to empower customer teams to operate the UAV platform safely and effectively.

Technical Support : Provide in-field and remote support, including first-line diagnostics, troubleshooting, and basic repairs.

Operational Oversight : Manage the Houston-based drone operations site, including inventory, logistics, and basic site coordination.

Flight Logging & Compliance : Maintain flight records, safety checklists, and ensure all operations are Part 107 compliant.

The Person

We’re looking for an experienced UAV operator with outstanding technical knowledge, a customer-first mindset, and the ability to thrive in dynamic, real-world environments.

Ideal candidates will bring :

• Significant hands-on drone piloting experience and a valid Part 107 license

• Strong customer-facing skills and a passion for technology adoption

• A technical background with experience in troubleshooting and basic drone maintenance

• The ability to work independently in the field with minimal supervision

• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills

• Willingness to travel frequently across the US and Canada

• Experience in operational roles, including inventory management or projects, is a plus

• Familiarity with commercial UAV use cases in energy, infrastructure, or industrial sectors is advantageous

This is a rare opportunity to take the lead UAV role at a fast-scaling drone company and have a real impact across North American operations. To apply confidentially, please submit your resume today for immediate consideration.

Airbotics Talent are committed to providing Equal Employment Opportunities. All candidates submitted to our clients are evaluated solely on suitability, without regard to age, gender, orientation, ethnicity, religion, disability, veteran status, or any other protected category.
