Job Description

JOB SUMMARY
TTX is seeking a seasoned Communications Director to lead and implement a comprehensive communication strategy that aligns with the company’s business goals and strengthens its brand. This role encompasses strategic planning, content creation, internal and external communications, digital engagement, analytics, media relations, and crisis communication.

RESPONSIBILITES
Strategic Planning • Develop and implement a comprehensive communication strategy that aligns with the organization's goals. • Communication Strategy Development: Design and execute communication plans that support organizational objectives. • Brand Management: Maintain and enhance TTX's brand through consistent messaging. • Crisis Communication: Prepare and manage communication efforts during crises to protect TTX's reputation.
Content Creation and Management • Content Development: Write, edit, and produce all communication materials such as Company announcements / emails, press releases, newsletters, social media posts ensuring that all communications adhere to TTX’s brand standards. • Content Calendar Management: Plan and manage content schedules to ensure timely and consistent communication.
Internal Communications (TTX’s internal stakeholders include our Fixed Day and Remote employees, FMO employees and Shop employees) • Intranet Management (e.g., SharePoint; The Hub): Review and update TTX's intranet and on-line resources to ensure they serve as valuable resources for employees. • TTX TV: Write and post content that previews relevant events and happenings (e.g., open enrollment for benefits) for employees at HQ and in the field. • Internal Newsletters (e.g., BRG Newsletter; PAC Newsletter): Create and distribute newsletters to keep employees appropriately informed.
External Communications (TTX’s external stakeholders include its Board of Directors, lenders/Finance community, Charlotte community, suppliers and railcar manufacturers, government affairs – regulators, and job seekers) • Corporate Communications: Draft and manage corporate communications to ensure consistent messaging across all external channels. • Public Relations: Develop and execute public relations strategies, as may be necessary, to enhance TTX's public image in Charlotte and nationally. • Community Outreach: Organize and participate in community events to promote TTX's initiatives and values; work with the BRGs on events and outreach. • Reputation Management: Monitor and manage TTX’s reputation through proactive communication efforts, as may be necessary. • Advertising and Marketing: Collaborate with Fleet Management to create and distribute materials at trade shows, etc.
Digital Communications • Leverage the digital platforms on which TTX is active (i.e., LinkedIn, Glass Door) to maintain or enhance TTX’s online presence. • Social Media Management: Develop and execute social media strategies to engage with audiences and promote TTX's initiatives, as appropriate. • Website Management: Update and maintain TTX’s website to ensure it is current, informative, and user-friendly. • Email Marketing: Create and manage email campaigns to communicate with stakeholders (e.g., regarding employee benefits).
Analytics and Reporting • Data Analysis: Collect and analyze data on communication efforts to assess their impact. • Reporting: Prepare reports on communication metrics, if requested, and present findings to the executive leadership team. • Performance Measurement: Evaluate the success of communication strategies and make recommendations for improvement.
Media Relations • Press Liaison: Serve as the primary contact for media inquiries and facilitate interviews, as approved by the CEO. • Press Release Distribution: Write and distribute press releases to relevant media outlets. • Media Monitoring: Track and analyze media coverage to gauge public perception and inform future communication strategies. • Event Coordination: Organize and manage events or conferences where the press may be present and other media engagements.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS • Bachelor’s degree in communications • 10+ years of experience creating content and managing internal, external, and digital communications. • In-house communications experience preferred • Excellent communications skills, must be clear, concise, and accurate in written work products, attention to detail and timeliness are critical to written work product • Must be collaborative
