Complex Claims Director (Lexington) Join us as a Complex Claims Director to take on key responsibilities within a world-class claims function. How you will create an impact Focused on Professional Liability, you will be responsible for a portfolio of complex claims from coverage inquiry through legal liability assessment and quantum analysis, to timely and accurate resolution. Your goal will be timely, accurate and customer-focused claim resolution, minimizing indemnity exposure and mitigating vendor and legal expense – you will actively promote and demonstrate the principles of ‘Treating Customers Fairly’ in claims handling. You will communicate regularly with internal and external stakeholders in your role as a Professional Liability technical claims expert and thought leader. As a senior member of the team, you will act as a deputy for the Team Manager and will provide training, and be a technical referral point for colleagues. You will make coverage determinations, investigate losses, evaluate potential exposures, establish judgmental reserves, develop and implement resolution strategies, manage outside law firms and work with underwriting on policy renewals and promoting client relationships. What you’ll need to succeed Advanced knowledge of and experience with legal/regulatory and litigation/procedural requirements for professional liability matters. Experience in negotiation, mediation, arbitration and ADR skills on complex claims. Policy language skills enabling accurate and consistent policy wording interpretation. Strong communication skills and the ability to develop relationships with claims and non-claims stakeholders to effectively service the business. For positions based in New York, the base salary range is $105,000-$148,000 and the position is eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan.
