About the Jewish Federation of Detroit :
The Jewish Federation of Detroit is the cornerstone of the local Jewish community, working to ensure the well-being and security of Jewish Detroiters, strengthen Jewish identity and education, support vulnerable individuals, and connect our community to Israel and Jewish people around the world.

Internship Overview :
The Jewish Federation of Detroit is seeking a creative and motivated Copywriter and Content Creator Intern to support our communications team in crafting engaging copy as well as visual and digital content. This intern will play a key role in developing creative and compelling copy to promote our large offering of events and programs as well as social media posts and broader storytelling efforts to highlight the impact of Federation’s work. We are looking for someone who can write in our established brand voice while also infusing personality and humor (when applicable) to craft engaging and on-brand copy. This is an excellent opportunity for students or young professionals interested in nonprofit communications and marketing and community engagement.

Key Responsibilities :
• Write copy for event promotions, website updates, and email campaigns.
• Assist in developing and executing social media strategies for Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and other platforms.
• Create engaging content, including captions, graphics, and short-form videos, to promote Federation events, programs, and initiatives.
• Monitor engagement on social media platforms and respond to comments/messages as needed.
• Conduct research on social media trends and best practices to enhance digital engagement.
• Assist in capturing content at live events, including taking photos, videos, and interviews.
• Collaborate with the communications team to brainstorm and implement creative storytelling ideas.

Qualifications & Skills :
• Strong writing and communication skills with the ability to craft clear, engaging, and brand-aligned messaging.
• Experience with social media platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok.
• Basic graphic design and video editing skills are a plus (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar tools).
• Interest in nonprofit communications, Jewish community engagement, or digital marketing.
• Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects at once.
• Passion for storytelling and creativity.

I nternship Details :
• Location : Hybrid (Remote & In-Person at Federation offices as needed)
• Duration : Semester-based or Summer Internship (May through August)
• Compensation : This is a paid internship
