Fabric/Pre-Production Development & Sourcing Assistant

The Fabric/Pre-Production Development & Sourcing Assistant is responsible for ensuring the timely development and sourcing of fabrics in support of our Design Team(s) objective to deliver fabrications that align with the requirements set forth by the various business partners that we service.

Summary of some duties and responsibilities

• Responsible for submitting sourcing/development requests, issuing purchase orders, their organization and status.
• Interface with the Design team daily and work with the receiving team to ensure goods are processed & received on time.
• Prepare fabric submissions and ship based on customer requests.
• Prepare package, email and supporting customs chart for international shipping.
• Maintain quarterly invoicing & Agent Billing including year-end reporting, plus 3D Billing.
• Maintain archive of core/ running fabrics for library ensuring up to date accurate information and swatch inventory is replenished.
• Assist in entering and maintaining fabric information in fabric database (PLM System) and fabric books.
• Manage receipt of new fabrics and file accordingly by type in fabric library
• Index and categorize fabrics in a systematic way.
• Responsible for assisting in all pre-production-related tasks including maintaining and updating WIPs and costing in PLM.
• Receive/check-in & prep daily packages for review with the appropriate Designer and help with physical inventory tagging.
• Reviewing submits with the design team, sending comments to factories and submits to customers
• Organized individual who can effectively manage and multiple tasks simultaneously
• Individual who is responsible and can produce results when given a deadline

What skills do you need?

• Basic computer knowledge, proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio)
• Proficiency in PLM System or A2000 is a plus.
• 1-2 years of production/product development experience and has a background/passion for fashion
• College degree in fashion design textile or production fields preferred
• Attention to detail and extremely organized
• Ability to handle multiple tasks while adhering to deadlines
• Strong communication skills internally and with overseas and cross-functional partners
• Strong interpersonal skills and good time management skills
• Works well in a fast-paced environment and can be a team player
• Sense of urgency; Fast and efficient
