Fashion Designer - Women's Athletic Apparel Buffbunny is an inclusive, ethically manufactured athletic apparel brand that empowers women from all walks of life. We create limited-edition pieces that celebrate strength, beauty, and power, allowing women to step confidently into who they are. Position Summary We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Fashion Designer with extensive expertise in women’s athletic apparel to join our team. This role will be responsible for the end-to-end design process, from conceptualization to final production, ensuring that each piece meets our high standards of fit, quality, and performance. Creative Product Development: Design and develop innovative athletic apparel collections aligned with brand vision. Project Management: Track and manage design projects to meet deadlines and ensure timely deliveries. Technical Illustration & Tech Packs: Create detailed technical sketches and comprehensive tech packs for manufacturers. Manufacturer Communication: Collaborate with manufacturers to ensure accurate execution of designs, fit, and materials. Brand Standards & Quality Control: Maintain consistency in fit, function, and aesthetic while ensuring high-quality production standards. Fit & Performance Testing: Conduct daily fit sessions on live models and provide efficient feedback to improve product fit and functionality. Material & Color Development: Approve lab dips, color swatches, and fabric selections to maintain brand consistency. Deadline Management: Adhere to strict production timelines and proactively resolve any delays or challenges. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or a related field. Minimum 3 years of experience in live model fittings and apparel design, specifically in women’s athletic wear. Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and other design software for technical sketches and spec sheets. Strong understanding of pattern making, grading, and garment construction methods. Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to problem-solving and creative design solutions. Receptive to feedback and critique, with the ability to make adjustments efficiently. Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Qualifications Experience working with performance fabrics and activewear-specific construction techniques. Knowledge of sustainable and ethical manufacturing practices.
