Reports to: Principal / Headmaster
School Hours: 7:55 a.m. - 2:20 p.m.
City of Boston Resident Required

General Description

Under supervision, serves as secretary to the principal or headmaster, performing complex clerical work requiring independent judgment and using current technology.

Responsibilities

• Perform general correspondence
• Maintain pupil and teacher records; prepare reports
• Maintain confidentiality of records and communications
• Sort and distribute mail
• Keep records of school-related financial transactions
• Monitor requisitions, supplies, and repairs
• Prepare transcripts of student records
• Assist with student registration and discharge
• Answer phone inquiries professionally and redirect calls as needed
• Operate office machines
• Greet and assist visitors professionally
• Prepare payrolls
• Maintain files
• Respond to inquiries from parents, staff, and students
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Basic computer skills (word processing, email)
• Completed relevant coursework
• Good communication skills

Current authorization to work in the U.S. required by first day of employment.

Terms and Compensation

Union Grade: 15, 17, 18, 19, 21
Bi-weekly salary: $1,853.91
Hourly rate: $23.17
