Responsibilities

• Review and analyze insurance applications
• Evaluate risk and determine coverage terms and pricing
• Approve, modify, or decline applications per guidelines
• Calculate premiums based on risk factors
• Request additional information from agents and applicants
• Review inspection reports and loss histories
• Maintain relationships with insurance agents
• Monitor portfolio performance and loss ratios
• Stay current with underwriting guidelines and market conditions

Requirements

• Bachelor degree in Business, Finance, or related field
• 3-5 years of commercial insurance underwriting experience
• Strong knowledge of insurance products and coverage
• Excellent analytical and decision making skills
• Understanding of risk assessment and pricing
• Good communication with agents and insureds
• Detail oriented with ability to manage pipeline
• Professional insurance designations preferred
• Property and casualty license required
