Location: onsite M-TH (Clifton, NJ), remote Friday

We are looking for a  jack-of-all-trades financial leader  who can operate at a  C-suite level  while remaining  hands-on  in day-to-day operations. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional who thrives in  small, unsophisticated company environments  and can bring both  strategic vision  and  executional excellence . The Interim CFO/Controller will play a critical role in reducing the CEO’s involvement in daily financial operations by taking full ownership of the finance function.

• Strategic Financial Leadership: Provide high-level financial guidance while executing tactical initiatives.
  
  
• Cost Accounting Implementation: Design and implement cost accounting systems from the ground up to improve visibility into product and operational costs.
  
  
• KPI & Dashboard Development: Create and maintain real-time dashboards and performance metrics to monitor profitability and operational efficiency.
  
  
• Team Assessment & Development: Evaluate the current accounting team’s capabilities and recommend structural or personnel improvements.
  
  
• Operational Oversight: Take initiative in leading financial operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency.
  
  
• CEO Support: Act as a trusted advisor to the CEO, helping to offload operational responsibilities and drive business performance.
  Must-Have Experience:
  
  
  
  • Proven experience in  manufacturing environments
    
    
  • Strong background in  cost accounting and  performance tracking systems
    
    
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and build teams in  small, family-owned, or underdeveloped company settings
    
    
  • Hands-on leadership style with a willingness to roll up sleeves and get involved in the details
    
    
  • Experience working with  unsophisticated or evolving company structures
