Neurosurgery APP Bronson Neuroscience Center has an exciting opportunity in southwest Michigan for a goal oriented, energetic Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner. This full-time position will be working with the Neurosurgery division, supporting both our Kalamazoo and Battle Creek locations. The Neuroscience surgery division currently consists of 3 Neurosurgeons, 1 Neurointerventional Surgeon, 4 Physiatrists and 6 APPs. This position is very diverse, with a mix of inpatient rounding, outpatient clinic, and surgical assisting, with no required night call coverage. This position is team focused and provides inpatient rounding coverage on a weekend rotation. The ideal candidate will have a desire for providing personalized, evidence-based, care at the highest level. We are looking for someone who is a good team-player, eager to learn, has great communications skills, and a passion for supporting neurosurgical patients. Position overview: Assists in the delivery of medical care to the patient by reviewing and monitoring treatment and therapy plans in the inpatient and outpatient settings. Obtains medical and personal histories, performs physical exams, orders appropriate laboratory, diagnostic and radiographic tests and interprets results. Educates patients and families regarding the plan of care. Works in conjunction with multidisciplinary team for the management of neurosurgical and neuroendovascular patients. Assists surgeon in the operating room on spinal and cranial cases. Supports all neurosurgeons and neuroendovascular surgeons on a rotating basis. Requirements: Minimum 1 2 years experience as an APP is preferred but not required. Experience in neurosurgery, other surgery specialty, or neurology is preferred. Must be able to practice independently with strong clinical decision making; communicate clearly with patients and caregivers and be able to navigate well through the EMR (Epic). Is able to work both autonomously and in a team environment. Graduate of accredited PA/NP program with u nrestricted license to practice as a PA/NP in the state of Michigan.
