Cook Children’s Health Care System is seeking a Pharmacy Technician for a job in Fort Worth, Texas.

Summary:

The Pharmacy Tech II assists Pharmacist in providing professional pharmacy services to the patients and staff of Cook Children's Medical Center and the community we serve. Clerical tasks will encompass answering phones, recording, filing, and reporting pharmacy activities and services. The technical tasks will be performed after experience is gained, and necessary skills and competency demonstrated. Documentation of training must be on file prior to working independently. All tasks will be performed under the direct supervision of an experienced pharmacist. Competency in the following pharmacy production areas preferred: Central PO area, Advanced Omnicell processing, and compliance audits. Must be competent in advanced sterile preparation.

Qualifications:

  • High School or Equivalent Required
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in Cook Children's pharmacy preferred
  • Pharmacy experience with one year of hands on IV preparation experience.
  • Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) OR enrolled in ACPE accredited school of pharmacy.
  • Texas State Board of Pharmacy Technician Registration OR Texas Pharmacy Intern License.
  • ACPE IV certification required.
  • Basic knowledge of math, the metric system, pharmaceutical chemistry, and medical terminology is essential.
  • General knowledge of office procedures such as filling and record keeping is essential. Good telephone skills and good oral communication skills are essential.
