Job Description

General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems manufactures and sells a broad range of high performance electro-mechanical and electro-optical components and sub-assemblies to the aerospace, defense, intelligence, reconnaissance, and surveillance markets. We presently have a need for a Principal Electrical Engineer at our San Diego (Otay Mesa) location .

Responsibilities:

Plans and implements the design, manufacture, installation and/or maintenance of electrical systems and apparatus, such as electric motors, machinery controls, lighting, wiring and power systems/devices, for the generation, transmission and control of electric power.

• Designs, develops, and tests electrical equipment, components, circuits, or systems.
• Applies mathematical and engineering principles and methods to designs.
• Performs extensive testing and validation of designs to ensure reliability, performance, and safety standards are achieved.
• Conducts research and studies new technologies to innovate and design solutions or products.

Qualifications:

• Required Education and Experience: Associate's Degree and 8-10 years experience
• Preferred Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree
• Discipline/Major: Electrical Engineering or other Engineering degree required
• Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Oral and Written Communication. Analytical Thinking. Circuit Design. Computer. Simulation. Design Optimization. Electrical Engineering. Mathematical Analysis. Mathematical Modeling. Programming. Prototyping. Reliability Analysis. Requirements Engineering/Analysis. Research and Development. Schematic Capture. Electro-Mechanical Components/Instruments. • Critical Professional Related Technical Skills; Computer Skills: Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Salary Range: $102,410-190,190/year
