Job Description Gpac is currently working with a food manufacturer in southern Indiana who is searching for a Quality Assurance Director! Business is booming and the company is going through rapid growth! They have two facilities at this location running 24/7 across 3 shifts, plus a third one that is almost completed! *Candidates for this position must have strong USDA background, with experience in either meat processing or RTE environments*
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Implement and maintain QC policies, procedures, and directives to ensure compliance with company, customer, and government expectations, providing feedback and follow-up for corrective actions.
- Lead the plant's SQF certification program.
- Perform customer audits and annual SQF audits.
- Develop and maintain the HACCP plan and train plant personnel on quality programs.
- Communicate with USDA regarding preoperational or operational inspections.
- Develop and maintain quality control systems/programs, including Pest Control, Self-Inspection, Supplier Management, Safety, Microbiological Testing, and Defense.
- Conduct pre-shipment reviews, CCPs, validation studies, and report deficiencies for GMPs, HACCP, and SSOPs.
- Perform microbiological tests on finished products, environmental, and direct food contact surfaces.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from a four-year accredited college or university.
- Five-plus years of quality control management experience in a RTE or meat processing environment.
- HACCP Certification (preferred).
- SQF Certification (preferred).
- Real USDA experience.
- Experience with multi-location operations a plus.
Strong computer skills, analytical abilities, and experience with equipment and food-processing equipment. - Knowledge of quality control processes related to the food-processing industry.
- Familiarity with quality process control, HACCP, SSOP, and SOP.
- Knowledge of USDA and FDA standards.
