Job Description

Sarmal, an innovative biotech company based in San Diego, California, is seeking an experienced R&D Scientist with a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology or a related field to join our cutting-edge research team. We are developing revolutionary genomics platforms that aim to transform the field of genetic testing and sequencing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and execute complex experiments in molecular biology and biochemistry
• Develop and optimize novel molecular biology assays
• Lead research projects focused on our proprietary technologies
• Evaluate and implement new technologies in molecular diagnostics
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to advance project goals
• Mentor junior scientists and present findings to stakeholders

Required Qualifications:

• Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or a closely related field
• 5+ years of post-doctoral experience in molecular biology research
• Extensive hands-on experience with nucleic acid amplification, microarray, and next-generation sequencing techniques
• Proficiency in DNA/RNA handling, isolation, and amplification assays
• Strong understanding of nucleotide chemistry and genomics
• Experience with various types of sequencers and genetic testing platforms
• Demonstrated ability to design, execute, and analyze complex molecular biology experiments
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Industry experience in diagnostic or biotechnology sectors
• Familiarity with emerging technologies in genomics and molecular biology
• Experience with bioinformatics tools and data analysis software
• Track record of publications in peer-reviewed journals
• Experience in project management and team leadership
