JANUS et Cie currently has an opening for a Senior Staff Accountant reporting to the Controller.

This position is located on-site in Santa Fe Springs, CA

Salary Range: $90k-$100k DO E

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Review and reconcile balance sheet and income statement (monthly)
• Prepare month-end closing entries related to pre-paid, accruals, intercompany transactions, interest and eliminations
• Record the company payroll journal entries and work closely with HR.
• Analyze sub-ledger activity to general ledger activity to identify and resolve discrepancies
• Perform bank reconciliations (daily, weekly, monthly)
• Allocate credit card fundings to invoices
• Calculate sales team commissions and verify with sales leaders and HR monthly
• Support the international accounting team to complete month-end closing
• Reconcile and record tariffs as part of the landed cost process, weekly
• Review and reconcile inventory transactions against accounts payable for discrepancies
• Annual 1042 filings for non-US vendors for royalties
• Maintain leases files: straight line, deferred rent schedules; reconciliation of rent/CAM
• Lead audits as needed for all JANUS entities
• Lead property tax return filings
• Weekly inputting of wires for payments
• Prepare ad-hoc reports as requested

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum 7 years of staff and senior staff accountant combined
• B.A./B.S. in Accounting from an accredited university
• International experience a plus
• Advanced Excel skills and demonstrate reconciliation competencies
• Strong communication skills and analytical skills
• Microsoft D365 F&O experience a plus
• State sales tax experience a plus
