STAFF PARK AND RECREATION SPECIALIST – PARK OPERATIONS / DISTRICT FACILITIES MANAGEMENT / STATEWIDE PROGRAM SUPPORT CENTER
The reporting location for this position is at the Statewide Program Support Center in Sacramento, CA. This position will work under the direction of Staff Services Manager III.

The California Department of Parks and Recreation is seeking an experienced and motivated Energy and Sustainability Coordinator to lead key statewide initiatives that support energy conservation, water efficiency, electric vehicle infrastructure, and compliance with statewide climate goals. The position is based at McClellan Park in Sacramento and includes free parking and telework flexibility.
What will you do? Manage the Departments ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager benchmarking program; Coordinate monthly energy and water data collection across all park Districts; Lead the Department's annual CRIS greenhouse gas reporting; Represent DPR in interagency work with the Department of General Services (DGS) and other statewide partners; Drive the development of energy efficiency and EV infrastructure projects; Provide guidance and tools to help Districts meet sustainability goals; Translate state mandates and executive orders into real, measurable progress.

This is primarily an office-centered position with occasional statewide travel. Work may include site visits to park units and operational facilities for data verification, project scoping, and interagency coordination.
