Job Description: BCC Engineering, a Parsons Company is looking for an amazingly talented Traffic Operations Engineer to join our team! In this role you will design traffic signals, signing, and pavement markings, support cross-discipline coordination, oversee task execution and quality control, contribute to technical reports and peer reviews, and support team development, project delivery, and potential Engineer-of-Record responsibilities. What You'll Be Doing: Analyze and prepare project designs, calculations and drawings for traffic signals, highway signing, and pavement markings, with guidance provided on complex matters Approach tasks with a project mindset, to include coordination with other disciplines throughout the duration of the project; propose innovative solutions to design problems with an understanding of project scope and goals Assign, track, and review tasks of technicians, designers, and engineers, ensuring adherence to project schedules; QC final work product Prepare engineering reports and contract documents for review; perform independent peer reviews on team work products Review contract plans and calculations from other engineering teams and outside entities to verify completion and compliance with governing traffic operations design codes and contract plans and specifications Potential to serve as the Engineer-of-Record for mid-size and miscellaneous traffic operations designs Effectively present proposed team design solutions as part of internal project meetings; attend and contribute to presentations with external parties Adhere to company marketing requirements by providing timely personal resume updates, providing technical proposal support, and participating in marketing campaigns Ensure timely completion of time sheets, expense reports, and labor hours management Take ownership of personal and team member career development by seeking and providing feedback, seizing opportunities to develop and teach new skills, and setting and pursuing goals Contribute to the development of team members through mentorship and modeling positive behaviors Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Transportation Engineering Professional Engineer (PE) Years of Experience: 5+ years Experience designing non-standard sign panels for arterials and limited access facilities, cross sections for multi-column signs and overhead sign structures Preferred Qualifications: Comprehensive knowledge of FDOT processes, procedures and requirements.
