Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery/Postpartum position requiring at least 2 years of LDRP experience and active NC or compact RN licensure.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

• Work in a Labor & Delivery/Postpartum unit within a hospital setting
• Unit includes 8 beds with an average daily census of 8 patients
• Patient population includes LDRP and GYN surgical cases
• RN assignments follow AWHONN guidelines for patient ratios
• Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Schedule requires every other weekend and 75% holiday coverage
• Floating may be required within the Pineville, Anson, Union, Union West, Central Division hospitals based on regional needs and within scope of practice
• Use Epic for EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, Phillips monitors, GE Corometrics fetal monitors, and GE Panda Warmer
• Daily duties include care for laboring, delivering, and postpartum patients, circulating for C-sections, providing newborn care, performing heel sticks, 24-hour testing, NAS scoring, and lactation support
• Support provided by CNAs, charge nurse, case manager, respiratory therapist and hospitalist or OB physician available 24/7, as well as pediatrician and lactation consultants
• No remote tele monitoring is utilized on the unit
• Up to 6 days of time off (excluding holidays) may be approved, but contracted hours must be met
• Initial orientation consists of NEO and 2 days in the department
• Navy blue scrubs are required or hospital-issued scrubs while on duty
• Free parking is available on site

\n \n Requirements\n

• Active NC or compact state RN license required
• Minimum of 2 years LDRP RN experience required
• Current BLS, ACLS, EFM, and NRP certifications required
• Must be skilled in all aspects of LDRP patient care including circulating C-sections, newborn care, and lactation support
• Recent experience in specialty within the last year required
• EMR experience with Epic preferred
• Candidates must have a permanent address at least 50 miles from the home unit
• First-time travelers will not be considered
