BlueWave is hiring a Wind Turbine Generator Engineer for a leading renewable energy client based in Palm Beach, FL. As Wind Turbine Generator Engineer you will be responsible for supports the reliability and performance of large scale wind turbine generator systems across a national renewable energy fleet. The engineer provides technical expertise on equipment design, maintenance, and root cause analysis to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant operations. Ideal candidates bring strong experience in rotating machinery, power systems, or wind generation engineering.

Responsibilities:

• Lead engineering efforts related to wind turbine generator systems and associated electrical components.

• Provide technical expertise and troubleshooting support for equipment reliability and performance issues.

• Conduct root cause analyses on generator failures and develop corrective action plans. Collaborate with OEMs, vendors, and internal field teams to improve design, maintenance, and repair strategies.

• Plan and execute engineering projects involving complex electrical systems with significant operational impact. Serve as a technical liaison across departments and external partners, working independently on specialized engineering matters.

• Develop and maintain procedures, specifications, and documentation for equipment operation, maintenance, and repair.

• Apply data-driven decision-making to identify trends, evaluate risks, and optimize fleet performance.

• Use diagnostic tools such as vibration monitoring, motor current analysis (MCSA/ESA), and endoscopic inspections to assess equipment health.

• Ensure work aligns with quality and reliability standards (e.g., ISO 9001) and internal process requirements.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or related Engineering discipline (advanced degree preferred).

• 5–10 years of experience with large motors, generators, or similar rotating electrical equipment in design, manufacturing, or field environments.

• Strong understanding of electromagnetic theory, machine dynamics, and rotating machinery principles.

• Proven experience with root cause analysis and reliability engineering methodologies.

• Hands-on experience with diagnostic tools and testing methods for electrical equipment.

• Excellent problem-solving, documentation, and cross-functional communication skills.

• Ability to balance multiple projects, deliver under deadlines, and work both independently and in team environments.

• Comfortable working in an office and field support capacity; ability to climb turbines as needed.

• Willingness to travel up to 20% for site support and vendor engagement.
