Head of Communications and Public Relations

Kartoon Studios (NYSE: TOON) is a global media company developing, producing, marketing and licensing branded animated entertainment properties and consumer products for media and retail distribution. We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Head of Communications and Public Relations . This individual will oversee corporate announcements and PR efforts, leveraging traditional and digital social channels to amplify the company’s voice.

This role is ideal for a seasoned communications professional with a robust understanding of the entertainment industry, public company operations, and experience managing both corporate partners and consumer-facing initiatives. A passion for entertainment, brand building, and engaging the financial community is essential.

Responsibilities

  1. Lead the creation and execution of a bold, comprehensive communications strategy to elevate corporate visibility and investor confidence.
  2. Craft compelling narratives and messaging that align with the company’s vision, values, and business objectives.
  3. Manage investor-facing communication, including earnings releases, shareholder updates, and executive messaging.
  4. Support the CEO and leadership team in communicating with investors, analysts, and stakeholders.
  5. Build and maintain relationships with key media outlets across business, financial, and entertainment.
  6. Secure high-impact media coverage for corporate announcements, investor initiatives, and company milestones.
  7. Act as the primary spokesperson for media inquiries.
  8. Leverage digital and social platforms to disseminate information and strengthen the company’s brand.
  9. Innovate with emerging communication trends and technologies to deliver measurable impact and engagement.
  10. Partner with the CEO and senior leadership to ensure consistent messaging across all communication channels.
  11. Create a communication strategy that the organization can understand, adopt, and champion.
  12. Oversee the creation of press releases, presentations, and other communication materials.
  13. Ensure consistency in brand messaging and tone across all public-facing content.

Qualifications

  1. Experience: 8+ years of experience in corporate communications, public relations, or investor relations within publicly traded entertainment companies, ideally in family-oriented entertainment.
  2. Strategic Expertise: Proven success in developing and executing strategic communications plans that drive media coverage.
  3. Digital Proficiency: Strong understanding of digital and social media platforms.
  4. Network: Established media relationships across business, financial, and entertainment trade outlets.
  5. Leadership: Demonstrated ability to collaborate with C-suite executives and manage multi-stakeholder communication strategies.
