Job Summary:
We are seeking a Quality Supervisor to oversee product quality, CMM machines, and operators in a precision CNC metals and composite manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for ensuring high-quality standards, managing inspection processes, and leading a team of quality professionals. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, experience in metrology, and a background in quality assurance.
Key Responsibilities:
• Supervise and lead the quality team, including CMM operators, inspectors, and technicians.
• Oversee the operation, programming, and maintenance of CMM machines to ensure accurate and reliable measurements.
• Develop and implement quality control procedures to maintain compliance with customer and industry standards.
• Review and analyze CMM reports, inspection data, and production trends to identify and resolve quality issues.
• Train and mentor CMM operators and quality personnel to ensure consistent and effective inspection practices.
• Conduct in-process inspections and final product verification to ensure products meet required specifications.
• Work closely with engineering and production teams to address non-conformances and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure calibration and maintenance of all inspection equipment and metrology tools.
• Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and problem-solving initiatives to drive continuous improvement.
• Maintain documentation and reports related to quality control, audits, and compliance.
• Participate in customer and third-party audits, ensuring the company meets all required standards.
Qualifications & Requirements:
• Experience: Minimum 5 years in quality assurance within precision machining, CNC manufacturing, or composite fabrication.
• Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of CMM operation, GD&T, blueprint reading, and metrology tools.
• CMM Experience: Experience with Hexagon CMM machines and PC-DMIS software is preferred but not required.
• Leadership: Experience supervising quality teams and CMM operators.
• Software Proficiency: Familiarity with CMM programming software, SolidWorks, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Problem-Solving: Proven ability to conduct root cause analysis, corrective actions, and process improvements.
• Certifications (Preferred): ASQ Certified Quality Technician (CQT), Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), or equivalent.
Working Conditions: • Manufacturing and quality lab environment with exposure to CNC machining and composite manufacturing.
• Occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs and standing for extended periods.
• Use of safety equipment and PPE as required.
